The Indigenous Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Workers Wellbeing, Stress and Burnout Brief Report No.1 is the first in a series of reports from the Indigenous AOD Workers Wellbeing, Stress and Burnout Project and contains the preliminary results from an online survey. The online survey was conducted and was accessible online during July 2008 – January 2009. The Brief Report No.1 is intended to provide workers with practical information and tools to assist them in their work roles.

The Australian National Council on Drugs (ANCD) commissioned the Drug Policy Modelling Program to undertake a project exploring opioid pharmacotherapy treatment in Australia. The aim of the project was to investigate the availability, accessibility and affordability of treatment. We sought to examine treatment affordability, availability, accessibility and quality through the application of a novel method in pharmacotherapy research: a system dynamics model. A system dynamics model provides a means to explore policy options, through the simulation of specific policy.

In 2007, NCETA, in collaboration with the South Australian Network of Drug and Alcohol Services (SANDAS) conducted an online survey of the AOD workforce employed in non-government organisations within South Australia. The aim of the survey was to develop a profile of this workforce to assist SANDAS as the peak non-government body in South Australia to support their constituents. This document presents data from that survey and provides a brief update on the sector in 2009.
